Information for Independent Schools

Independent Schools

The Horse Power programme is an inspiring and fulfilling opportunity for the independent sector to collaborate with state schools to provide benefits for both sets of pupils.

By adopting Greatwood Horse Power, children in the local community will benefit from a unique educational programme. Independent schools will deliver a real service to their community, contributing significantly to their social responsibility.

Following a pilot programme in Spring 2009, Millfield School is now working with four schools in its local community. The children, teachers and parents greeted it with great acclaim. Bryanston is now running a pilot programme.

This is a cost effective programme and will appeal to the governors of all independent schools who may be looking to reinforce the charitable work the school is involved in. Having horses on site is not a prerequisite for working with Greatwood.

Millfield Headmaster, Craig Considine, says: It’s been a really enlightening and inspiring experience for our students.”

We are offering our programme, and experience, so that independent schools can provide further benefit, through charitable work within their local community.
